Aston Villa vs Liverpool LIVE – score and stream after Luiz, Matip and Mane goals and Fabinho injury worry

Liverpool half-time ratings

Alisson Becker – 6

Saved from Watkins and Luiz in build-up to Villa opener but lucky to escape when hitting a pass straight at the former.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6

Caused a few problems for Villa with his deliveries but his contribution was primarily defensive first half.

Joel Matip – 7

On hand to force home the equalizer and the only Liverpool defender to look at least a bit composed before break.

Virgil van Dijk – 6

Shot prompted the opener but had moments of real concern up against Watkins during first quarter.

Kostas Tsimikas – 4

All over the place in the opening exchanges but did put a decent cross in for Mane header.

Fabinho – 4

Took an early knock, was subsequently bypassed regularly, got away with a few fouls and then went off with an apparent hamstring injury.=

Naby Keita – 5

Didn’t offer much protection defensively but looked to probe Villa. Bad miss when miskicking from eight yards, though.

Curtis Jones – 5

Barely involved amid all the mayhem early on but began to find some spaces in which to work after the half-hour mark.

Luis Diaz – 6

Took a few whacks but kept plugging away although more potential than end product before break.

Sadio Mane – 6

Leapt well with one header midway through first half but forced to drop deep too often.

Diogo Jota – 5

Fair amount of endeavor but too much of his work was with his head done first half.

Jordan Henderson (for Fabinho 30)

Brought a bit of much-needed bite to the midfield with some strong challenges.
