Confusion over two Van Gogh experiences with the same name coming to Dublin

The organisers of a major Van Gogh digital exhibition in Dublin have said they have nothing to do with a company organising an event with a similar name.

The Van Gogh Dublin Immersive Experience will be held at the RDS between May 16th and August 4th.

The experience, which is unique to Dublin, is being designed in collaboration with Nohlab and will use artificial intelligence, 3D data analysis and data visualization to immerse the viewers in the painting of Van Gogh.

At the same time, a company called Fever has been selling tickets for Van Gogh The Immersive Experience which is branded as an exclusive.

The authentic Van Gogh Dublin Immersive Experience has issued a statement through Twitter stating that it has “absolutely no affiliation with the Fever event. They are completely separate events and separate companies.

Gillian Wilson told RTÉ’s Liveline program that tickets for her show went on sale on February.

She said it was a “shock” that a similar sounding experience had been advertising and confusing customers.

Fever stated that he had planned to launch Van Gogh The Immersive Experience in May, but could not find a suitable venue.

A spokesman said: “We were due to open on May 1st and have been working hard to deliver Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience in a timely manner, but unfortunately have come across some production delays which has meant we have made the very difficult decision to postpone the opening of the experience.”

He said Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience was in multiple cities in Europe and across the US and has been seen by three million guests.

“We are thrilled with the popularity of this experience and look forward to welcoming our Dublin visitors soon. It is common practice for us to reveal the venue closer to our opening date, as we find this helps us to build excitement and we use this ‘venue reveal’ moment across our marketing channels,” he said.

He said full refunds will be given to those who have already bought tickets.
