Emergency services are at the scene of an incident in Cardiff Bay. At 12pm South Wales Police warned the public to stay away from Queen Alexandra Dock while they deal with the incident.

In a subsequent statement, the force said that there had been a chemical leak on Queen Alexandra Dock and three people had been taken to hospital.

A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “South Wales Police were called to reports of a chemical leak on Queen Alexandra Dock, Butetown. The fire service had dealt with the incident. Three people have been taken to hospital as a precaution.

“Please avoid the area and keep windows and doors shut if you are in the Queen Alexandra Docks area. Please do not contact our control room in relation this incident.”

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service asked people living nearby to shut their doors and windows in the area of ​​the docks.
